Summers are always so busy for us!
We went to CGDC in July. We got the Alpha 1 release ready just 36 hours before we had to leave for the conference, but in time enough to be able to burn some DVDs and take it with us! A couple of lucky people went home with collectors copies of Visions Alpha 1 signed by the producer. The remainder of the DVDs came back home with us.
The producer and her family were awarded a partial scholarship to attend Wiconi family camp the end of July. They connected and worshiped with other Christians at the only Christ centered Native American family camp and Pow-Wow in the nation.
Then August brought a few surprises of its own, several team members encountered stressful issues that hindered their goals for the month. Bronchitis attacked early this year, hopefully that means we won’t get it later in the winter? There’s nothing like a house full of people with bronchitis to slow down your schedule! But we persevered. And we made progress on Visions despite being sick.
We figured out a couple of the issues with the custom vehicles. The solution to those problems provided some clues to the problems we had been having with the avatars also, so providentially we made some progress on the avatars also. We added a new Worldbuilder to our team, so we’re making more progress on the building the zones as well. Our programmers are working diligently behind the scenes to get quests, skills, and more advanced account management features working.
As the new school year begins, we face new challenges and new conflicts, as well as more stability in schedules, and new events coming up. We’re hoping to attend GDC-Online in Austin for the first time ever this October. We could use some financial assistance for this effort. If you would like to help us please donate. Additionally, we were offering small $10 awards to the developer who put in the most work to the project each week during the month of August. This was a fun way to reward people for their hard work, but funding for this event has run out. If you would like your donation to go to a specific cause, please indicate that on the comments when you send it in. If you are unable to help financially, please pray for us. We appreciate that you are willing to invest your time to pray for us and help us finish the Visions game project.
“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.” ~Luke 18:1
